Nucleotides are essential to the foundation of good health through good nutrition and provide the key to many biological processes. Nucleotides are primarily known as the building blocks of DNA and RNA.

They are needed by all of the cells in the human body during periods of regeneration, growth and repair. Additionally, nucleotides provide a cellular energy source, they mediate cellular signalling, help to regulate certain enzymes, along with a host of other functions.

Dietary nucleotides:
Some cells regenerate faster than others, such as immune cells and the cells of the gastrointestinal system, and the raised nucleotide demand cannot be met by the body’s own nucleotide production. In this case, the body must rely on nucleotides derived from the diet.

Dietary deficiencies:
Since our modern diet is largely devoid of nucleotide-rich foods, such as offal, nucleotides deficiencies occur, particularly during periods of growth, repair, methylation dysfunctions, and following gastrointestinal injury or infection.

Health issues:
Research shows that dietary deficiencies in nucleotides, particularly pyrimidines, have a significant impact on immune and gastrointestinal function, resulting in a variety of health issues.
